  1. Introduction
    • The International Education group at Cambridge University Press & Assessment is organising the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards (the Competition) to recognise the hard work that teachers put in on a daily basis
    • The Competition runs in three stages:
      • Nomination Stage: 09:00 GMT on 15 January 2025 to 23:59 GMT on 24 February 2025.
      • Shortlisting Stage: 00:00 GMT on 25 February 2025 to 23:59 GMT on 31 March 2025.
      • Voting Stage: opens at 09:00 GMT on 23 April 2025 and closes at 23:59 GMT on 30 April 2025. (All times GMT).
    • Entries received after the Nomination Stage ends will not be included in the competition but data may still be used as per these Terms and Conditions.
    • The Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
    • This competition is run by the Chancellor, Masters, and Scholars of the University of Cambridge, acting through its department Cambridge University Press & Assessment of Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge, CB2 8EA, UK (”Cambridge”).
  2. Teacher eligibility
    To be eligible for nomination, a teacher must:
    • Be a current working teacher with pupils who are in compulsory education or between the ages of 5 and 18.
    • Not be prohibited in participating in the Competition or receiving the prize under any applicable law.
    • Not have been a finalist in this Competition before.
  3. Who can make a nomination?
    • In order to nominate a teacher, you must be at least 13 years old, or have permission from your parent or guardian.
    • Parents are eligible to make a nomination, as are other members of staff at the schools where the teacher works.
    • You may only nominate one teacher per person.
    • You are not permitted to nominate a teacher who is your spouse, civil partner, someone you live with as a partner, parent, sibling, child or step-child.
    • A teacher may not nominate themselves.
  4. How to enter the Competition
    • Nominations can be made in writing, following the instructions on the Competition website: www.dedicatedteacher.cambridge.org.
    • After you submit your nomination, the teacher will be notified of the nomination. The nomination will not be put on the Shortlist (as defined below) unless the nominated teacher accepts the nomination.
    • By submitting a nomination on the Competition website, you agree that Cambridge may publish your nomination on the Competition website, in the event that the teacher is selected for the Shortlist.
  5. Shortlisting and Competition Stage
    • At the end of the Nomination Stage, nominations will be scored by a panel of Cambridge staff who will select the top 90 (“Shortlist”) based on the following criteria:
      • Preparing learners to be ready for the world.
        Recognise teachers who prepare students for a changing world and equip them with knowledge, skills and attributes to succeed in higher education, the workplace, and as a global citizen.
      • Championing climate change education.
        Highlight teachers who lead the way in climate change awareness and education, both in the classroom and community activities. This could be through innovative lesson plans or projects.
      • Exceptional pastoral care and inclusion.
        Celebrate teachers who embed diversity and inclusivity, promote well-being and support emotional and social development. Making sure education is accessible to all helping students feel valued and capable of achieving their potential.
    • After the Shortlist has been selected, a judging panel composed of current teachers, authors and staff from across the University will assess the Shortlist against the same criteria and will select the top entry from the following nine regions: (“Regional Winners”).
      • North America
      • Latin America & the Caribbean
      • Europe
      • Sub-Saharan Africa
      • Middle East & North Africa
      • South Asia
      • Pakistan
      • East Asia
      • Southeast Asia & Pacific
    • The Regional Winners will be notified via email in the week commencing 07/04/2025 and publicly announced on Cambridge’s Social Media Channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) on 23/04/2025.
    • The Regional Winners will then go to a public vote on the Competition Website to decide the world’s most dedicated teacher (“the Winner”).
  6. Opting out
    • Teachers who are put forward by the Cambridge panel for inclusion on the Shortlist will be contacted given an opportunity to opt-out at every stage of the Competition.
    • Teachers will not be announced on the Shortlist, as Regional Winners, or as the Winner without their consent.
  7. Prizes and publicity
    • Teachers who make the Shortlist will each receive a digital certificate recognising their nomination.
    • The Regional Winners will each receive the same prize as teachers on the Shortlist and:
      • A set of class resources from Cambridge’s 2025 Education catalogue worth up to £500 (GBP).
      • A 2025 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards Regional Winners trophy and the following publicity:
        • Their names and schools included in a thankyou page that will appear in selected Education titles published by Cambridge in 2025.
        • Their names, schools and photographs published in a one page advert which will be included in the Cambridge Education Group’s 2025/2026 international catalogues.
    • The Winner will receive the same prizes as the Regional Winners plus:
  8. Other Terms and Conditions
    • Cambridge will make reasonable efforts to contact the Regional Winners and the Winner. If they cannot be contacted within 10 days or indicate that they are not willing or able to accept the prizes and the associated publicity, Cambridge reserves the right to offer the prize another teacher from the Shortlist.
    • The prizes are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged by the winner for cash or credit or any other product. There is no cash alternative.
    • To the extent permitted by law, Cambridge accepts no liability in respect of the prizes. They are supplied “as is” with no express guarantee or warranty as to their suitability or quality. Cambridge accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize that are not expressly included in the description of the prize.
    • Please allow at least ninety (90) days for delivery of the prizes, unless otherwise stated. If local delivery of any prize is not possible, Cambridge reserves the right to substitute the prize for a reasonable alternative.
    • Prizes need to be redeemed with 12 months of winning.
    • No bulk, third party or automated entries permitted or those submitted via macros or similar.
    • Cambridge may disallow entries, refuse to award any prize, or seek its recovery, in the event of an entrant's fraud, dishonesty or non-entitlement under these terms and conditions.
    • By participating in this Competition you agree, if selected on the Shortlist, as a Regional Winner or as the Winner, to participate in all related publicity as may reasonably be requested by Cambridge, including but not limited to: press, print and online publicity (which will include publication of your name and may include a photograph of you).
    • Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions and/or that are delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, illegible or otherwise defective will be disqualified.
    • Your personal information: By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the Competition entry may be held and used by Cambridge or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition.
    • Cambridge will only use your personal data as outlined in Cambridge’s privacy notice (https://www.cambridge.org/legal/privacy).
    • If there is a conflict between these terms and conditions and any other terms whatsoever attached to any other advertising material in respect of the Competition, these terms and conditions will apply.
    • The Competition and these terms and conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are subject to English law and any disputes or claims must be referred to English courts.
