Laura Kahwati, Education Manager, shares her experience of the 2025 Early Childhood Education Summit meeting, held between 24 and 25 April in Lithuania. "I was incredibly lucky to deliver a keynote speech on 'Talking in Class: How Communication Skills Shape Lives', as well as a workshop, 'Talking from the Heart: Building the Vocabulary for Life, inspired by Brené Brown’s Atlas of the Heart'. The summit was packed with inspiring teachers, school leaders, thought leaders, and educators from Poland, Ukraine, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Australia, and America. I was also fortunate to be accompanied by Teresa Okrasinska, Senior Regional Manager for Northern Europe, whose support and deep connections with Lithuanian educators made the trip even more special. I learnt so much from the summit speakers — from how children of war are supported through trauma to how music can transform lives. But the strongest message was clear: to create the conditions for wellness in children, we must prioritise the wellness of teachers. When teachers are well, they not only care for their learners more effectively, but also model wellness in action."

#CambridgeLearners from 2E, the Cambridge International Education section at Liceo Classico Dante Alighieri in Latina, Italy, won first prize in a regional creative writing competition organised by the British Council. 🥇 Their bilingual storytelling earned them the honour of receiving the award from Queen Camilla during a special ceremony in Rome. The winning story, featuring Mary Poppins and Paddington Bear, showcased their exceptional English language and storytelling skills. Accompanied by their teachers, Prof. Tiziana Spaghetti and Ilenia Papacchioli, the students were congratulated personally by Queen Camilla, who encouraged them to “never stop writing.” Headteacher Michela Zuccaro commented: “This is a proud celebration of the potential of international education.” This achievement exemplifies the global-mindedness and creative confidence our learners develop. 🌍✨ #CambridgeSchools #ReadyForTheWorld

Last week was truly enlightening as we engaged with Sol Escobar, Assessment Manager at Cambridge International Education. Our journey took us to 7 schools in the Buenos Aires region offering the A'Level Spanish syllabus. We delved into the intricate process of exam design, text selection, question creation, and the dedicated individuals involved in this meticulous process. Exploring the reasons behind schools and students opting for A'Level Spanish provided valuable insights. Understanding their appreciation for the syllabus and the ongoing challenges was eye-opening. The week was brimming with scholarly conversations, fostering a platform for idea exchange and intellectual growth. The prospect of continuing these discussions through online follow-up meetings is exciting. A heartfelt appreciation to Sol Escobar for this opportunity for reflection within our Cambridge International schools in Argentina. Special thanks to the Heads, Coordinators, and Teachers whose warm welcome and transparent sharing of thoughts made this experience truly exceptional. Acknowledging the remarkable individuals at each institution: - Quilmes High School: María Silvina Ristol, Maira Melgarejo, Natalia Maniago, and María Laura Antinori - Essarp: Silvana Tejón and Cecilia Chabod - Sworn Junior College: Maria Cuesta and Maria Laura Palermo - St. Hilda's College: William Beckingsale, Catherine Beck and Graciela Ruiz - Colegio Alas Pinitos: Mariela D'Aquila, Maricel Gentile and Gustavo Siliato - St. Mark´s School: Guillermina Marenco and Azul Cariola - St Nicholas' School: Carolina Bengochea and Valeria Carulla - St. Andrew's Scots School / Escuela Escocesa San Andres: Analia Heidenreich, Carolina Flores Vidal Peña, Mariana Mulin, María Eugenia Bosio, Victoria de Caso Ward Your contributions have made this week truly unforgettable for all involved
