Jessica Lopez I completely agree! This 👇🏽 was the most incredible gathering of educators from around the world! Thank you very much for your kind words. I also wrapped day 1 (and day 2, for that matter) inspired, challenged, and full of hope! Paul Ellis and team, thank you so much for the invitation to speak at the #CambridgeSchoolsConference! It was truly an honor!
What an inspiring start to the #CambridgeSchoolsConference in Miami! As Day 1 wraps up, I'm feeling grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many incredible educators from our Cambridge schools. A highlight for me was Mitch Weathers from Organized Binder's insightful sessions on how teachers can support executive functioning to improve student outcomes. So many practical takeaways! And truly, one of the most powerful moments was hearing directly from our student panel about the impact Cambridge has had on their educational journey. Their stories are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Can't wait to see what Day 2 brings! #ReadyForTheWorld

The future of education is in good hands, based on what we learned at the #CambridgeSchoolsConference in Miami. We heard from some amazing speakers, shared our challenges and successes in breakout sessions, and were wowed by the maturity and eloquence of Cambridge learners in Florida. Key reflections include: - The foundational importance of executive functioning skills for learning and for life. - How we need environments in which we feel we are welcome so that we can contribute to the world around us. - The vital importance of being connected positively to other people. - How we can work with new technologies to augment who we are and what we do. - That we should regularly remind ourselves why we educate, before we look at the what and the how. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Miami. We hope you are returning home brimming with new ideas! Just finishing an incredible few days at the Cambridge University Press & Assessment International Schools Conference 2025 in Miami—and wow, what a gathering. I had the honour of keynoting alongside three brilliant minds: ✨ Professor Sara Baker, whose work in developmental psychology reminds us that executive functioning and agency are not “nice-to-haves”—they’re the essence of real learning. ✨ Dr. Rob Loe, who brought home the power of relationships and how they shape every part of the school experience. ✨ Fernando Valenzuela Migoya, who made it crystal clear that tech must serve our humanity—not the other way around. Together, we explored how schools can build learning cultures that truly reflect the world we want to live in—where learners know who they are, how they fit, and how they can contribute. What stood out most? The people. The energy. The shared commitment to moving education forward—not just tweaking, but bravely transforming. I walked away feeling more hopeful than ever and grateful to be part of such a rich global network of educators. New ideas sparked. New connections made. New pathways of learning—together. #ContributiveLearning #CambridgeSchoolsConference #GlobalEducation #Wellbeing #PurposeDrivenLearning #HumanCentredEducation #FutureReadyLearners The Learner First Salzburg Global Edmund Hillary Fellowship (EHF) Paul Ellis Deb Dunstone Karanga: The Global Alliance for SEL & Life Skills Queensland Department of Education Education New Zealand | Manapou ki te Ao

#miami 🇺🇸 Cambridge University Press & Assessment I learned a lot from the Cambridge Schools Conference, US Future-ready: preparing learners to thrive Gratitude Rod Smith Paul Ellis Mark Cavone Elizabeth Cater Matthew Kaye, Ed.D. Abigail Barnett Laura Kahwati Suzi Haigh Lucy Eyre Sara Baker Joanne McEachen Rob Loe Jazheel Lenegar-Brown Jemma Joakim Anamika Ved Our brains are wired for connection. We speak often of “strong relationships,” “trust-building,” or “relational learning,” we rarely dissect what actually constitutes the fabric of a good relationship. I was able to witness the strength of the relationship between Cambridge and theirs schools globally! In an era shaped by artificial intelligence, automation, and anxiety, the most future-ready schools will not just adopt new technologies—they will double down on what makes us most human.
