On Monday, 28 April 2025, we were delighted to welcome Vytautas Mitalas, Vice Mayor of Vilnius (responsible for education and sport), to the Cambridge Triangle. He was joined by three Cambridge Exams Officers from Vilnius state schools: Asta Navickaitė, Ilma Stonienė and Vaida Lescevičienė. The visit aimed to provide a clearer understanding of how the Cambridge curriculum works and how it can be further embedded in state schools across Vilnius. With a full and inspiring agenda, the day included: - A welcome and pathway overview by Imogen Poole (Regional Director, Europe), - A session on our ongoing work in Lithuania, which I had the honour of leading, - Deep dives into curriculum mapping, skills development, climate change education, Global Perspectives, and EdTech & AI in the classroom. We concluded with a meeting with Rod Smith, Group Managing Director, and a presentation from the Vilnius team reflecting on their first year of implementing the Cambridge curriculum in five state schools. The visit ended with a look at Cambridge’s global school community and the opportunities it offers learners worldwide. It was a highly productive and engaging visit, with thoughtful discussion and a strong sense of shared purpose throughout.
